Sunningdale Wexford Park Tile Regrouting Project
Wexford Park was built 30 years ago, and the stairwell tile grouting was in poor condition.
Exposed tiling grout, had over the years deteriorated, to the extent that water penetrated the walls, and caused damage to paintwork.
The paintwork needed attention, but the grouting had to be waterproofed first.
Retiling, with approx. 400 m2 of terra cotta tiles,was not an option,
After much debate, over a long period, it was decided to do a trial project, regrouting 1 of the 6 stairwells.
Sky Projects together with Ocean Construction, used a small angle grinder to remove old grout to a depth of 5mm, and regrout with high quality tile grout and latex bonding liquid for waterproofing.
