Sky Projects – Story of the week
Websites can be very boring and out of date, here is an attempt to tell a real life success story, brought to you by Sky Projects!
The background was mentioned last week on a WhatsApp group.
A new home owner wanted an electric hob instead of a gas hob, that had been fitted to the newly renovated kitchen.
Sky Projects was called in to assist.
The first visit revealed that the original stove had been moved to the central island and was now an electric oven and a gas hob.
The DB board still had the 30A breaker, and isolator switch was fitted behind the electric oven.
After a visit to Hirsch and a chat to the Bosch consultant, Sky Projects and the customer were assured that the electric hob would be a drop in fit for the stone counter top, and a straight swap of the gas and electric hobs would be a simple task.
Not so easy!
First of all the gas hob was not a drop in fit, it was secured by splined nuts under the counter, accessible only after removing the oven.
Secondly, the so called exact same size electric hob was 2mm too large to fit into the gas hob cutout in the counter top!
Sky Projects saved the day by coordinating the swap out of the hobs, after calling 7 granite companies to trim the counter top on a Friday afternoon, and fitting the hob, as well as upgrading the electrical wiring on the following day (Saturday)
One very happy customer!
